Honoring Dr. Stephen Shapiro
Dr. Stephen Shapiro was a founding faculty member, mentor, and dedicated champion of the University of North Florida. Over more than three decades, he helped shape the Department of Economics and Geography, strengthen the Coggin College of Business, and inspire generations of students and colleagues.
Known for his warmth, generosity, humor, and unwavering pride in UNF, Steve's impact extended far beyond the classroom.
Steve's legacy lives on through the students he taught, the faculty he mentored, and the university he helped build. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
In lieu of flowers, the Shapiro family kindly requests that memorial gifts be made to the Stephen Shapiro Scholarship Fund. This scholarship honors Steve's lifelong commitment to education, mentorship, and student success.
